FRESNO (KMJ) — Two people have been arrested after an alleged illegal gambling operation was uncovered in central Fresno.

MAGEC (the multi-agency-gang-enforcement-consortium) were serving an unconnected warrant inside one of the Summerset Village Apartments. But inside they say they found computers and gambling machines.

“They had a bank set up at a table where multiple people could play all at one time”, says Fresno County Sheriff’s Office’s Tony Botti. “So they basically had one bedroom. They set up a table and they put about three computer monitors on one of the tables. People could just sit down together.

“It almost looked like you know you’d be at the library all studying together but instead you’re playing poker”.

Two people were arrested at the scene, Pa Vang, (below left) and Thanhack Linthong, who officers believe are a couple.

“These two were arrested just last August for the same type of crime of operating an illegal casino”.

“It just goes to show that some people don’t learn their lessons”, continues Botti.

He adds that the next step for investigators is to determine just how long the operation has been running.
