(KMJ) Henry R. Perea says he’s running for Mayor of Fresno.
The announcement by the longtime Fresno County Supervisor comes as no surprise. At a recent speaking event, Perea told the audience that he was “99%” certain to enter the race. Perea’s announcement was first published by the Fresno Bee.
Perea is the third declared candidate in the race to replace termed-out Ashley Swearengin. Councilman Lee Brand and pastor H. Spees are also running.
Coincidentally, Perea’s son, Henry T. Perea, lost to Swearengin in a hotly-contested Mayor’s race in 2008.
