(KMJ) – Five weeks ago, former Fresno City Councilman Garry Bredefeld annouced his intention to try and recapture his old District 6 seat. But Monday, the 56-year old says he is now pulling out of the race.
Bredefled says his decision is health related. He continues to recover from a 2014 battle with cancer. In an e-mail, he said his health is good and tests show he is cancer free. But he adds that he still needs time to focus on his recovery.
His departure from the race for Fresno Council District 6 leaves two candidates left in the race. They are business owner Holly Carter and Elvis impersonator Jeremy Pearce. They will each try to success current Councilman Lee Brand.
