FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Tobacco and vaping products would be prohibited on California’s public college campuses, under a bill introduced by Democratic Assemblyman Kevin McCarty.

Six of the twenty-three California State University campuses currently ban smoking, and there’s a system-wide proposal in the works.

However, McCarty believes they’re not moving quickly enough, and says college should be a healthy learning environment.

The measure is the latest in the battle against tobacco and vaping, which has seen no shortage of spending.
