FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — An effort to recall California State Senator Dr. Richard Pan, who authored California’s new law requiring that virtually all school children be vaccinated, has failed.

It was led by parents who believe vaccines are unsafe, and violate their constitutional rights.

Beginning later this year, students entering Kindergarten and 7th grade must have their vaccines, unless they have a medical exemption.

Dr. Pan says the law was prompted by the Disneyland measles outbreak.
