FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A drunk driver crashes in Northeast Fresno on Monday night, leaving eight people injured — most of them — her own children.
Fresno police say the accident happened around 7:30p.m. at Cedar and Shepherd on December 28th.
A 39-year-old woman in a Lincoln Navigator ran a red light while driving eastbound and crashed into a Toyota Cruiser making a turn.
Police say the woman from Coarsegold, and her six children suffered minor injuries, but she refused treatment after changing her mind a few times.
The Toyota driver also suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.
Officers on scene noticed the scent of alcohol on the woman’s breath, and she failed a field sobriety test.
She was arrested for a DUI with injuries.
