A Madera Couple is now behind bars for mail theft.
Clovis Police arrested 34-year old John Holmes (below left) and 36-year old Tanya Barnes (below right) on Saturday night after an alert citizen called to report suspicious activity near Tarpey Village.
Officers say the resident watched holmes tamper with a mailbox and promptly called police.
The pair was stopped near Clovis and Dakota.
Clovis Police say the pair have broken into 19 community mailboxes which gave them access to the mail of over 100 residents.
Holmes and Barnes were arrested for theft, vandalism, and possession of stolen property.
