Fresno Police and the FBI are in the process of tracking down two men accused of a hate crime.
Officers say the victim, 68-year-old Amrik Singh had a beard and was wearing his turban Saturday morning, as he waited for a ride to work near Shields and Brawley.
A car with two men inside pulled up Singh, and they started yelling at the him.
Singh tried to cross the street, but the car backed up and hit in with its rear bumper, then the men got out and began to hit Singh in the face and upper body.
At one point, one of the men asked Singh, “Why are you here?”
Singh fell, hitting his head on the ground, and the two men took off in their car.
Singh was treated for a broken collarbone and cuts to his face and hand at an area hospital and is back home, resting.
Fresno Police will ask the Department of Homeland Security for help on thes case.
