Earthquake Proof Bed Could Shake Up The Market

FRESNO (KMJ) — What’s being billed as an ‘earthquake bed’, which protects its occupant inside a metal cocoon, is the product of a Chinese inventor.

The idea is to shield the sleeping person from falling debris while they’re still asleep.

When the ground begins to rumble, the bed folds up and places the occupant inside a secure environment with supplies to last them out until rescue.

Wang Wenxi was apparently granted a patent for his design back in 2010, but after a video of the concept started making the rounds on social media it captured the public’s imagination en masse.
