FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Average credit scores, credit utilization, foreclosure rates, and outstanding balances make up a new report examining the “debt savviness” of California cities.

According to financial information website SmartAsset.com, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Monterey, Los Angeles, and Chico rank in the top 5.

Fresno ranks second-to-last, with an average credit score that’s less than 640, and a foreclosure rate of more than 2.5%. The average California credit score is just over 657.
