Arsonist Pleads No Contest In Blaze That Nearly Killed Captain Pete Dern

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The woman responsible for the blaze that nearly killed Fresno Fire Captain Pete Dern has pleaded no contest to felony arson charges.

Judith Harper faces 7 years behind bars.

Dern fell through a roof during the fire, leaving him with severe burns, for which he underwent more than 20 surgeries.

Harper is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
