Fresno Police are still looking for two people – one of them shot at an unmarked police car with two undercover officers inside.

It happened at 3:50p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 near the intersection of Jensen and Walnut in Southwest Fresno.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says a bullet went right through the rear window – heading directly for the officers.

Neither officer was injured.

Dyer says the two gun crimes unit detectives were on their way back from a training center when they saw two men on the side of Jensen who they possibly recognized, and one of the men shot at them, hitting the back window of their unmarked car.

Police rushed onto the scene, and set up a perimeter – which is seen in exclusive KMJ photos.

Sixty to 70 officers searched yard by yard, while police helicopters announced over the loudspeaker that residents of the apartments needed to come out.

Some residents in the area were evacuated to the Second Baptist Church a couple blocks away on Jensen.

Chief Dyer says this may be gang related, and vows to find the suspects responsible for incident.

The Chief of Police announced Monday that they are targeting West Fresno gangs, and by the sheer number of officers responding immediately after the shooting, it showed his intent to crack down on crime.

The apartment being searched at 329 Jensen was the same place that was the site of a gang-related shooting on Sunday, December 6th.

There were a string of gang shootings over the weekend, including Fresno police officers who were shot at at a parking lot outside the Fresno Fairgrounds while trying to break up a fight at an event.
