Thieves Leave Merced Family of 10 With Very Little

Merced Family

(KMJ) – A family of ten is left with next to nothing after they say burglars cleaned out their home in Merced this week.

Mai Zoua Vang and her husband came home last Tuesday night and they noticed their gate was open which was unusual, so they looked through the gate and that’s when they saw their window was wide open.

Mai said, “We’ve been married for eight years now, that’s all we had now we have nothing. But I told my husband, at least we have kids, that’s the best.”

Eight kids, all under the age of seven were with Mai and her husband at his parents Monday night. Mai had to rush her husband to the ER Tuesday and when they came home that evening they realized someone had broken in.

They say the burglars took everything from their clothes to things hanging on the wall to their pots to cook with.

Mai, who just gave birth to a baby girl last week, says they even took her means to make a living. “All my stuff that I sell at the flea market, like hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, all the jewelry that I sell.”

She says even though it’s heart breaking that everything her and her husband worked to get over the past eight years is gone, at least they have their family.

Someone has started a GoFundMe account for the family to try and help them replace everything taken from them and to help them financially. If you wish to help the family, here is a link to that account: https://www.gofundme.com/k6tsmnus

The family is also in need of clothes. You can drop them off at:   179 South “P” Street, Merced.

They need girls clothing from newborn to the age of seven. Plus a boy the age of four. They also need mens and women’s clothing.
