(KMJ) Henry T. Perea (D-Fresno) is leaving his post in the California Assembly at the end of the year.
The Fresno democrat, who was first elected to the Assembly in 2010, will depart Sacramento on Dec. 31, 2015 to “pursue other career opportunities.”
Prior to winning state office, Perea spent eight years in the Fresno City Council and lost a bid for Mayor to Ashley Swearengin.
Perea has not announced his next professional endeavor.
