FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — After 18 months as leader of the California Department of Conservation’s Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources, Steven Bohlen has stepped down.
The division had been plagued by controversies over fracking and the pollution of groundwater.
It subsequently — under Bohlen’s supervision — vowed to refocus its core values to regulate the oil and gas industries with safety and environmental health as top priorities.
Governor Jerry Brown has named Ken Harris of Davis as Bohlen’s replacement; he’ll earn $198,500 a year.
