Fresno Unified is seeking community input and asking residents to participate in discussions directed specifically around supporting district youth. Community members interested in collaborating and sharing ideas can attend one of nine workshops scheduled December through February 2016.
Fresno Unified School District encourages parents, teachers, staff, students and administrators to attend a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) workshop. The LCAP is an important component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), the state’s new funding system which shifts decision-making on K-12 spending from the Legislature to school districts. The workshops include an update on how Fresno Unified students are doing academically, what types of programs and services are being offered, and a period for feedback on how future funding could be spent. Opinions offered at the workshops will help the Board of Education determine how funds will be best spent to meet the needs of students.
The workshops are generally provided during the evening. Babysitting, light food, and translation services will be provided.
