Fresno Police Chaplains Receive Coat Donations

FRESNO – (KMJ) November 30, 2015 – Fresno Police Chaplains are receiving donations of children’s coats.

Members of the California State Retirees collected about 20 coats and will give them to chaplains from the Fresno Police Department at Assemblyman Jim Patterson’s office.

Items like blankets, coats, school supplies and grocery gift cards will be handed out to needy kids and families facing tragedy.

“The chaplains are a very important part of the Fresno Police Department and respond to a variety of situations to offer prayer, counseling and comfort,” Assemblyman Patterson said. “They are vital to our law enforcement community and do amazing work that touches many lives and families.”

Donations of the items below can be dropped off at Assemblyman Patterson’s District office at 6245 N. Fresno Street, Suite 106.

  • Various sizes of girls & boys socks (10-18 years)
  • Girls hoodies & jackets, various sizes (10-18 years)
  • Hair accessories
  • Basketballs, footballs, soccer balls
  • Journals & pens
  • Stationery & stamps
  • Backpacks with school supplies
  • Grocery gift cards for families who need immediate help
