FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Valley residents and businesses are covering more than their fair share of the financial burden relating to the Golden State’s aggressive greenhouse gas-reducing energy policies.

That’s according to economists with the California Lutheran University’s Center for Economic Research and Forecasting, who say the regulations cost the average household $2,500 a year.

They believe the economic costs have a larger impact here than in other parts of the state, because valley residents tend to be younger and less financially stable.
