Influx Of Travelers Expected At Fresno Yosemite International

FRESNO (KMJ) — Fresno Yosemite international airport will be getting busy in the run up to Thanksgiving.

And although it’s no surprise that airports get busy when Thanksgiving rolls around, advice is to give yourself as much extra time as possible as so many people will all be wanting to get to so many places all at the same time.

“We’re expecting the airport to be quite busy”, says Fresno Yosemite’s Vikkie Calderon. “Passengers need to be prepared”.

She says the thanksgiving travel period is one of the most hectic times of the year.

“Please arrive at least two hours prior to flight departure because Fresno Yosemite will be busy as well as airports across the nation. We have extra passengers traveling through the airport during this busy time of the year, they’re going to have extra bags as well.

“Passengers should allow for extra time to get to the airport to check in with their airline, to get through the security screening process”.

Security right now is very tight in light of the terrorist acts in Paris earlier this month, and Vicki is also asking passengers to stay alert.

“As always, we ask passengers and guests traveling through the airport to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious activities or items to airport personnel”.

So if you’re flying either out of or into the Central Valley, try to stay calm among the throngs of other travelers.
