Triple Murder Suspect Dead After Oakland Standoff

JASON BROWN

(KMJ) – A man suspected of homicides in Fresno, Sacramento and Livermore is believed to have taken his own life after a lengthy standoff with police in Oakland.

Police say 18-year old Jason Brown barricaded himself inside a Motel Six in East Oakland just after five o’clock Thursday night.

Early Friday morning, officers say they heard a gun shot from inside the room and made their way inside. There, they say they found Brown dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. Officers also say no one else was found inside the room.

A portion of the motel had been evacuated after officers launched tear gas and bean bag round into Brown’s room.  No other injuries were reported.  The Livermore PD is now handling the investigation.
