(KMJ) November 20, 2015 – Fresno Police say they have arrested the suspect involved in a deadly hit and run collision. The fatal crash happened Thursday afternoon at Fulton and Stanislaus around 3:30pm in downtown Fresno. An 80 year old woman in a wheelchair was killed. The suspect, 51 year old Luis Garcia, will face charges of vehicular manslaughter. His van has been impounded for evidence.
Fresno PD Lt. Joe Gomez says when the deadly crash happened the suspect “got out, looked at her, and then took off”. Lt. Gomez went on to say the van was spotted Friday morning by an employee of the Fresno Police Department who followed the vehicle and alerted police.
