FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — While most people would say stress negatively impacts their lives, a new study says there are times it may be beneficial.
Research published in the psychology journal Emotion says those who worry, tend be better prepared for negative outcomes, than those who are relaxed.
During a four-month study, participants who suffered through waiting periods with high levels of anxiety and stress, responded more productively to bad news, and more joyfully to good news, than those who were calm.
Experts say small amounts of stress can improve performance and functionality; obviously, large amounts of stress do more harm than good.
