FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The body odor of men who consume garlic is more attractive to women, according to a new Scottish study.

42 men were asked to eat raw garlic, garlic capsules, or no garlic. 82 women then sniffed samples of their body odor, and judged them on the basis of attractiveness, intensity, and masculinity.

Researchers say when men ate 12 grams of garlic, the women found their scent to be more appealing.

However, they stress that the study only involved body odor, and not bad breath, which can be caused by garlic.
