Thousands Attend Fresno Veterans Parade

Thousands were remembering Valley veterans today at the Fresno Veterans Parade – considered the largest parade west of the Mississippi.

Air Force Veteran Staff Sargeant Raymond Johnson (in striped shirt above)  from the Air Defense Command was there with his family was there to share the true meaning of the day – remembering those who served.

Veteran Krystal Hauswirth spent time in Iraq in the US Air Force, and brought her daughter to see the floats.

Each year, there is a theme based on the difference military branches.

This year, The U.S. Navy was the theme and former navy fighter pilot, Captain Monty “Ash” Ashliman served as grand marshal,

Next year, it was announced that Lt. Colonel Oliver North will be the Grand Marshall.

It’s estimated that about 5,000 parade goers on the route.
