FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The State of California is proposing a single-drug lethal injection method.

It’d replace the three drugs, which were last used in 2006 to execute Clarence Ray Allen.

Governor Jerry Brown had said the state would begin exploring a single drug option 3 years ago, but the process was delayed.

It was revived this year, after advocates sued on behalf of relatives of murder victims.

The state must now allow a public comment period.
