FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — People who get less than six hours of sleep a night appear to be more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes and heart disease, and are at a higher risk for having a stroke.
South Korean researchers say those who are sleep deprived face high blood sugar, high cholesterol, and extra fat around the midsection.
They say it’s unclear if it’s possible to reverse the effects of too little sleep, but recommend adopting a healthy lifestyle, including appropriate rest, a healthy diet, and sufficient exercise.
