FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Service Employees International Union-Healthcare Workers West says it has collected the required 366,000 signatures, to put a minimum wage hike initiative on the 2016 ballot.
If approved, the minimum wage would rise to $15 an hour for millions of Californians by 2021.
The proposal would allow cities to set even higher wages if they choose to do so.
According to a recent Field poll, 68% of registered California voters say they support an increased minimum wage.
