Fresno Police Officer Shoots Suspect After Knife Attack

Krikor Ekizian

The Fresno Police Department speaks about an OIS (Officer Involved Shooting) in Fresno.

On Sunday around 3:00am, the officer shot 28 year-old Krikor Ekizian, who entered two homes – one was the home of his uncle – where he stabbed the 58 year old man multiple times.

“It was extremely dark and again, the officer assumed the suspect was not in the area because of the time lapse and he was trying to render medical aid to the victim when he was attacked. Fortunately, he was able to defend himself and no one else was injured.” – Chief Jerry Dyer.

Chief Dyer called the suspect “deranged” with an extensive criminal history, and patterns of violence toward his family.

Dyers says Ekizian may have been high on the drug meth at the time of the attack.

The officer was wearing a body camera when he fired four shots at Ezikian.

The officer will be on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
