Councilmember Clint Olivier, along with Holy Family Episcopal Church members greeted bicyclists as they arrived in Fresno on Monday October 12th.
The Bicycle Ride Against Human Trafficking Fundraising Tour is an effort sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese to bring awareness to the problem of human trafficking.
“Money set aside from the tour will provide housing, healthcare and back to school training for any people who are survivors.” -Michael Fagans, Director of Communications, United Way of Kern County.
The Tour started in Taft on October 2 and ends in Modesto on October 23rd, stopping each day in an Episcopal Church faith community.
βThe goal of this bike ride is really to get more people involved in raising awareness to such a devastating issue. This is a great event that people all across the Central Valley can get behind in and hopefully raise money for local groups that are working to combat human trafficking,β said Olivier.
The next stop after Fresno is Oakhurst.
