AMMO KID

Fresno police locked down Manchester Mall on Thursday, after a call that a teenager was carrying an assault weapon and possibly heading to one of the school inside.

Fresno police received word that an 18 year old from Clovis had gotten into an argument with his father and took off in a red BMW with an assault rifle and 1000 rounds of ammo.

Clovis Police later told KMJ that 18 year old Athwal Joban Singh from clovis had gotten into an argument with his father and took off.

The father told police his son left with his friends – he assumed his son took the gun and was heading back to school.

Police said there was no suggestion the teen was out to harm anyone – but they locked down all the schools in Manchester Mall – where he was a student at one of them.

Some people waiting to pick up students at Crescent View Adult School were upset when the doors were locked and the lobby was dark.

“We’re sitting outside waiting to find out what’s wrong!” – Grandmother of a student.

Liz kern: “You were inside?

Student: Yup, they said they were looking for a suspicious character didn’t get into it but they locked everything down”

Fresno police did locate Singh, his friends and the car in the 100 block of Argyle.

The gun was found in trunk – not loaded- it was assault rifle but not automatic.

Clovis Police took over and arrested Singh for grand theft of a firearm.
