(KMJ) – Over the weekend, The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office released the name of its Deputy who was shot in the line of duty late last week. Rudy Mirelez is a 10-year veteran of that department.
A Sheriff’s spokesman say Deputy Rudy Mirelez is still listed in critical condition in a Modesto hospital where he will undergo many more surgeries on his road to recovery.
Mirelez was shot twice during a traffic stop on Highway 49, South of Mariposa last Thursday morning.

Deputy Mirelez Family has released the following statement:
