(KMJ) – The two men accused of killing a 21-year old UCLA student both entered not guilty pleas in an L.A court appearance on Tuesday.
Police arrested Fresno State Junior Albert Medina and UCLA student Eric Marquez over the weekend. Authorities say Medina allegedly stabbed Andrea DelVesco in her apartment near the UCLA campus before setting it on fire.
Her body was recovered by firefighters after extinguishing the fire the morning of Sept. 21.
Medina has been charged with one count of capital murder with the special circumstance. That special circumstance makes Medina eligible for the death penalty. He was also charged with one count of arson of a dwelling and two counts of first-degree burglary.
The second man, Marquez, is charged with one count of murder and two counts of burglary.
Medina is being held without bail while Marquez is being held on $1.1 million bail. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 22.
