(FRESNO) – NewsTalk 580/105.9 KMJ recently teamed with local agriculture company Gar Tootelian Inc. to raise money and food donations for Fresno’s Community Food Bank, and WOW did our listeners respond!
Last Tuesday’s day-long broadcast at The Market Grocery Store featured KMJ hosts Matt Otstot, John Broeske, Christina Musson, Ray Appleton and Chris Daniel.
Our generous listeners came through in a huge way, donating more than $45,000 in cash and checks! But the giving did not stop there… Gar Tootelian Inc. matched each cash donation with 50 cents for every dollar – and then some…
Gar Tootelian’s donation totaled nearly $28,000 – bringing our total cash donation to the Community Food Bank to $73,216.94!!! – Far surpassing our first fundraiser in 2014.

A lot of food was also donated during KMJ’s radiothon. 1,055 lbs. of canned food, 2,810 lbs. of potatoes and 1,000 lbs. of frozen turkeys also came in to help the Central Valley’s less fortunate residents.
