Old Town Clovis Trail Installs 5 New Exercise Stations.

MAYOR NATHAN MAGSIS

Come out to walk, jog, run or bike …and workout at five new exercises stations now in place along the Clovis Old Town Trail.

Clovis residents can now do pull-ups, chin-ups and other strength and balance exercises thanks to new equipment from Kaiser Permanente Fresno.

The equipment includes plank and balance boards, hand and leg cycles, chest and leg presses and other fitness machines.

A $40,000 Kaiser Permanente Fresno grant covered the purchase and installation of 10 pieces of equipment grouped among five exercise stations on Clovis Avenue between Gettysburg and Santa Ana Avenues.

To get a good deal on the equipment, Clovis Mayor Nathan Magsig (seen above) says the City of Clovis signed on to become part of a demo site.

“They wanted to make a national demonstration project out of this so Gametime stepped up and gave us incredible prices in this – all this was done for $40,000 dollars.” – Clovis Mayor Nathan Magsig.

Kaiser Permanente Fresno representatives joined Clovis Mayor Nathan Magsig and other city officials at a press conference to announce the new equipment along the trail.

“Kaiser Permanente Fresno is thrilled to be able to provide this top-of-the-line exercise equipment as an option for Valley residents wanting to stay healthy.” – Kaiser Permanente Fresno Senior Vice President and Area Manager Debbie Hemker, RN.
