(KMJ) A 10 month old baby boy is recovering from numerous injuries after falling out of a moving car on Thursday.
Visalia Police say the boy’s mother, 26 year old Ashley Cowell, had placed her son in the backseat of the vehicle but did not put him in a child safety seat.
Investigators say the back door inadvertently opened during the drive and the child fell onto the street at Whitendale and West.
The infant survived and is hospitalized at Kaweah Delta Medical Center. Cowell has been charged with felony child endangerment.
The baby and his two siblings have been placed into protective custody.
