SACRAMENTO (KMJ) — Three state agencies each have $25,000 dollars to give away, but only to the those who have a good idea to help them do what they do.

The three departments are:

  • Caltrans – who want your ideas on improving areas such as crash barriers and reflective signs.
  • The Department of General Services – who want suggestions on improving green sustainability using big data.
  • The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control – who are looking for ways that can help improve their efficiency.

“We’re asking folks to submit ideas that address education prevention or the enforcement of underage drinking laws”, says John Carr with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

“We think people will look at this and see it as an opportunity to be involved with the government and submit ideas to make government a better service”.

Caltrans will be awarding a single $25,000 prize to the best entry, while the other two agencies will be sharing the $25,000 they each have available between multiple winners.

The Department of General Services competition closes October 15th, the Caltrans competition closes October 13th, and the Alcoholic and Beverage Control competition closes October 13th.

The winners will be announced by the end of the year and all the information you need to enter can be found clicking here.
