FRESNO (KMJ) — Entrepreneurs, innovators, and creative thinkers, your retail or restaurant business ideas are being called upon by the Downtown Fresno partnership for their ‘Create Here Business Plan Competition’.
But you’ve got less than a week to submit your proposal.

“The winner receives a prize package worth over $100,000 and it includes free rent in a downtown space for a year”, explains the Downtown Fresno Partnership’s Executive Director Gretchen Moore.

The group is asking people from all over the valley to come up with an idea and send it on to them. As well as a year of free rent in a Downtown Fresno location, the prize also includes business mentorship, marketing and branding services, and $10,000 in cash to help set everything up.

“The interest has been outstanding”, continues Gretchen. “We have I think seven [proposals] submitted already and we’re looking to get 15 to 20 great business plans”.

Once all the ideas are in, a panel of judges will determine who goes on the shortlist and a public vote will determine the overall winner.

The closing date is this Friday at 5pm, and if all that’s piqued your interest details on how to enter can be found clicking here and the application you need for entry can be found clicking here.
