Assemblyman Jim Patterson is introducing a bill that would eliminate state funds for Planned Parenthood locations that provide fetal body parts for research.
The bill would be heard in a special session on healthcare by Governor Jerry Brown.
“The slippery slope is now obviously becoming an immoral landslide. I don’t think people in California want that to be the norm or the practice in California, and so I hope it sparks a conversation and I hope that it stops the money trail.” – Jim Patterson, CA Assemblyman.
Patterson wants to stop funding the 230 million dollars that California voters approved to go to Planned Parenthood for health services, family planning and abortions in California.
“What we want to do is end the temptation to be paid for this kind of gruesomeness – not to be forced to pay 230 million dollars to Planned Parenthood”. – Jim Patterson, CA Assemblyman
Undercover videos were released by the pro-life center “For Medical Progress” showing Planned Parenthood officials describing how they provide tissue from some aborted fetuses to researchers.
When the video first surfaced, Planned Parenthood President Cecil Richards had this to say: “The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true.”
KMJ tried to contact Planned Parenthood for a response to Patterson’s bill, they have not yet returned our call for comment.
