Former Sen. Leland Yee Pleads Guilty to Corruption, Racketeering Charges

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Former Democratic California State Senator Leland Yee has pleaded guilty to charges of corruption and racketeering.

Yee was nabbed by the FBI last year, for allegedly accepting $62,000 in bribes from undercover agents, in exchange for legislative favors, and agreeing to illegally import firearms from the Philippines.

He faces 20 years in prison, when he’s sentenced in October.

Fellow defendants, former San Francisco school board president Keith Jackson, and Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow, are scheduled to go to trial later this year.
