Fresno (KMJ) Authorities say a 13-year-old boy died and his 16-year-old aunt was injured after they were struck by a personal watercraft on Bass Lake.
The Madera County Sheriff’s office said the accident happened Saturday afternoon at the Miller’s Landing Resort.
Authorities said the youngers were inner-tubing when they fell off. A personal watercraft that was passing by hit them.
The boy died at the scene and the girl was airlifted to a hospital.
First responders say she was listed in critical condition with a head injury.
Investigators said they do not believe the driver of the personal watercraft was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
