Water Efficiency Tips Coming From Fresno State

FRESNO (KMJ) — We don’t have much water here in the Central Valley and Fresno State want to show us how to get the most out of what we have left.

“We’re helping farmers with new technologies to help them be more efficient with water”, says Education Manager at the Center for Irrigation Technology Bill Green.

It’s all about squeezing every drop of water we have left – with soil moisture sensors and remote irrigation monitoring some of the areas set to be covered.

“I’m a farmer myself. I’m having issues on my particular farm with the water levels dropping in the aquifer. It’s things like this that concern all of us in the agricultural community”, continues Bill. ”

If you’re in the farming industry or any water related industry it benefits them to come and understand what new things are out there that could help us be more efficient with our water”

Unfortunately every one of the tickets for Thursday’s event have been claimed. But bill says this won’t be the last water efficiency event they’ll be putting on and they have details from past events available on their website.
