FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California State Legislature has sent a $115.4 billion spending plan to Governor Jerry Brown after a long debate.
The compromise allocates more money for social services, health care, and immigrant assistance.
It also sets aside more for the legislature itself.
The Senate will receive more than $121 million, which it says will help to solve internal budget problems, that led to more than 3-dozen layoffs back in November.
The Assembly is looking at more than $160 million, although it will no longer use its money to support hand-picked causes.
