FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Negative equity continues to decline throughout the Central Valley, considered to be ground zero of the mortgage meltdown.

According to CoreLogic, fewer than 28,000 residential properties owners owed more than their house is worth during the first quarter of 2015.

That’s a drop of more than 5,000 homes year-over-year.

Visalia, Bakersfield, Stockton, and Modesto also experienced significant improvement.
