USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service has extended the deadline to submit proposals on the New Organic Promotion Order to July 20th.
Submissions will be considered before the agency publishes a proposed Organic Promotion, Research and Information Order which would create an industry-funded research and promotion program for organic products under the Commodity Promotion, Research and Information Act of 1996.
The National Farmers Union is pleased USDA is accepting additional viewpoints from the organic community.
NFU President Roger Johnson says NFU believes it is in the best interest of organic family farmers and the future success and effectiveness of their checkoff that as many proposals be solicited as possible.
