FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Right Start Commission, which is comprised of political, business, and academic leaders, says it’s working to address the health and learning gaps that are affecting young children.
Early education has shown to be essential for success in grade school, and reducing long-standing achievement gaps.
A recent study found that California’s state-funded pre-K program serves a mere 18% of 4-year-old children.
The commission’s independent report on improving childhood services is due this fall.
