Senate Finance Chair Orrin Hatch says the bill will boost export opportunities for American farmers, ranchers and businesses.

Several groups urge the House to pass TPA as well, including the National Pork Producers Council.

NPPC President Dr. Ron Prestage says the House needs to pass TPA so that one of the most significant regional trade deals ever can be concluded, the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Once TPA is approved Prestage says U.S. trade negotiators will have the leverage they need to close TPP negotiations and the U.S. pork industry needs TPP to continue growing exports.
