FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Being honest, even when it’s difficult, pays off in the long run.

According to a study from the University of Missouri, accepting responsibility for poor performance may hurt.

However, in the grand scheme of things, accepting blame and addressing problems, maintains a sense of trust, and ultimately leads to a faster recovery.

The bottom line: when mom told you honesty is the best policy, she was right.
