There will be a ballot arriving at homes in Fresno as they vote either to accept or refuse a $5 fee for mosquito abatement.
When homeowners called in the past, the Fresno Mosquito Vector Control has been able to send help, but with budget cuts they wont be able to do so in the future.
Think green swimming pools…teeming with mosquitos…
“I think it’s right around a thousand pools in Fresno every year – and it’s not just one treatment, we have to go back and check it. If you have ever seen a green pool you know how serious it can be.” – Gary Byde, Assistant Manager, Fresno Mosquito & Vector Control District.
Gary Byde is the Assistant Manager, Fresno Mosquito & Vector Control District.
It’s his job to fight the mosquitos that bring yellow fever and other diseases to the valley.
The ballot arriving at homes in Fresno will ask homeowners to accept a $5 fee for mosquito abatement.
Byde hopes people will vote to accept the new fee which will show up on their tax statement.
