Three men were arrested after shots were fired on two undercover police officers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson says no one was injured in the early-morning shooting Wednesday.
The undercover officers were investigating an earlier homicide in East Oakland when the shooting occurred.
The names and ages of those arrested were not released. The suspects sped away after firing shots, but they crashed the car and police arrested two men.
A manhunt ensued and a third suspect was later arrested.
The shooting comes as violence in the streets of Baltimore continues over the death of a black man in police custody.
The violence has prompted a recommendation for a Blue Alert for police departments nationwide, and officers in San Francisco and Oakland are riding in pairs due to the safety alert.
