A Fresno man already facing a death sentence for a sexual assault and murder conviction involving a Fresno girl in 1985 goes on trial for another rape next month.
The Fresno Bee reports that a Fresno County Superior Court judge ruled Monday that Eddie Ricky Nealy’s trial starts May 11. The 58-year-old goes on trial for 2001 rape charges against an unnamed woman.
In September 2013, Nealy was convicted in the rape and murder of 14-year-old Jody Lynn Wolfe. Her body was found floating in a Fresno canal in August 1985. A jury voted unanimously to give Nealy a death sentence. DNA evidence linked him to Wolfe’s rape and murder.
Nealy also has two prior rape convictions.
